We have been staying at this hotel for about 15 years, and it has always been a great experience. It is still expensive, but it is more affordable than Prince of Wales and Queen's Landing, and is in a perfect location in the middle of town. Our room is spacious and comfortable with two full beds and a sitting area. The staff is very responsive to our needs, and we look forward to our yearly visit when attending The Shaw Festival.
I would highly recommend visitors to Niagara on the lake to choose Moffat Inn for your trip. it's a cean and cozy with all the amenities you can think of.
Staff are very friendly and accommodating; room was spacious; bathroom was remodeled and very nice; my room was in the basement :-( :-( :-( . Please, please. please reconsider having a guest room in a basement, no matter how nice it is, it is a basement. I felt isolated being alone down there. It is a great room if you want to make a lot of noise, as nobody will likely hear you. Otherwise, it is kind of off-putting.
The staff and service are great. The rooms are tired and definitely need renovations: Damp smell, old and dirty wallpaper and old towels. Price is very high for the poor quality of rooms they offer.
Love the history of this building which goes back >180 years, apparently being the first hotel in Niagara-on-the-Lake. The rooms are adequately appointed - we had a main floor deluxe queen bed - which comes with wing chairs and desk and a small patio with table and chairs. Being steps from the festival theatre is wonderful. Parking is convenient. Dislike step in the room outside washroom which makes moving around in the dark a bit hazardous. Would recommend hotel use reflective tape to make it safer. Not suitable for wheelchairs or those with mobility issues despite being on main floor. Water pipes are a bit noisy.
