Great atmosphere and good service for a busy Friday night. However, the portions were undersized for the price. The quality of the food was also so-so. My Guinness steak pie contained a few morsels of beef and three or four button mushrooms. My son had fish & chips, which was good but small. Roasted potatoes were overdone (and perhaps reheated one too many times). Pints of Guinness were well poured. Irish tunes were an excellent addition to ambience. In short, good place with great potential needs better food to match the price.
I have visited this Pub in Niagara-on-the-Lake during the offseason, in February and in April and the service and the food was excellent. Really really enjoyed myself and loved the flights of beer.Went again with a friend at the end of July, I guess I can't complain because it is tour season and a very busy City for tourists but even though the service speed was good, the service quality was not so good and the food quality was not good. The fish and chips we ordered where extremely overcooked, almost burned, couldn't find our server for a long time after the food was delivered to tell her about it so we ended up eating it anyway but it was not enjoyable.Probably just a one-off, I'm sure that usually everything is fine otherwise even tourists would not go here at all.aside from this experience this is one of my favorite places to go in Niagara on the Lake for a flight of beer or whiskey and a tasty lunch.
Love this pub!! It is our go-to place when we visit Niagara-on-the-Lake. We have been here 5 or 6 times. The food is always terrific with plenty of options to choose from. This last time we went (Canada Day), there was a 2-person band performing. I had concerns that a live band would drown out conversation and detract from our experience, but I was so wrong!! These two musicians were just fantastic! They played both old Irish ditties and more contemporary choices. I couldn't help but tap my foot and chair dance. Can't wait for our next visit!
After many trips to the area we finally tried the pub! My family and I were not disappointed we had a cozy corner. The service was good perhaps tired but was not an issue. The food was delicious, the beer delicious sadly no room for dessert. I felt the portion size was adequate for the price. I hope next time to stop in again.
I'm sure that the food here is some of the best. I'm sure the beer is the coldest.I'm sure the service is aces.But I will never know because they wont let you in the damn place. We tried to nights in a row. Both times we were quoted an hour wait and both nights we were told that it was going to be a much longer wait. And the second night the hostess couldn't even give me a straight answer or look me in the eye when I asked her for a time frame.You have no problem shutting people out so why not give realistic wait times or just honest with them.
